“Sunlight provides unity to the vast variety of nature,” says Kevin Macpherson. “It engulfs everything, so the yellows, blues, reds and colors I between, when hit with that unifying light, have something in common. There’s also something metaphorical about how light brings out the best in even the dreariest environment. As an artist, I’m always looking for the harmonies that light reveals.”

“Light and shadow play games with color. The sun drenches and reflects warmth into the rocks creating even more intense reds and oranges. The shadows cast the deep blue of the western sky, changing the reds into violets and ultramarine, creating lovely combinations.”
