REFLECTIONS ON A POND

LEGACY SERIES

368,  6"X8"

ORIGINAL OIL PAINTINGS

HAND CARVED 22K GOLD FRAME

This is not simply a series about seeing as an artist as there can be no translation of the visual experience without feeling. Intermixed within my pigments is my heart.

This beautiful high mountain pond nurtured my spirit and fed my passion and let inspiration lead me from one painting to the next. This truly sums up what my life as an artist is and represents plein air painting at the purest form.

“Kevin Macpherson’s pond series is much more than a static subject that he recorded once a day, 368 times, it is a reflection of life during that year and all the other years that define our lives. Indeed, the pond is Macpherson himself, as he so profoundly observed. But the pond is also you and me, and this series of paintings is an elegant speculation on life, an effort to give meaning to the passage of time in a way that celebrates it in inspiring statements of color and form, of light and atmosphere.”
