Painting Demonstration, Exhibit, and Critique With Kevin Macpherson and Matt Smith Two of America’s foremost landscape artists

This special 25th Anniversary Event features demonstrations by Kevin Macpherson and Matt Smith, two of America’s foremost landscape artists, who studied at Scottsdale Artists’ School. Both demonstrations will be filmed, and copies of the DVD will be available for purchase in the SAS Store. Lunch will follow the morning demo, and after the evening demo, there will be a reception and exhibit of the artists’ paintings at Scottsdale Artists’ School. Those who attend both sessions are also invited to join the artists for a Sunday morning Coffee and Critique. After registering, you will be sent instructions to participate in the critique.
Tuition includes: • One or both demonstration sessions • Drawing for a chance to purchase demonstration paintings • Lunch with the artists at Scottsdale Artists’ School • Evening reception and exhibition at Scottsdale Artists’ School • Sunday morning (9am-12pm) coffee and critique (participants in both sessions only) • 20% discount on advance copies of demonstration DVDs

These Special Artistic Seminars will be offered in the week of August 27 - September 3, 2008 for up to six (6) Artists (and their non-painting spouses or guests) per each Artist Mentor. The Seminar will provide the Participants opportunities to paint and explore the surrounding countryside of Saint Andrews-by-the-Sea, a picturesque coastal village on the Passamaquoddy Bay with the Master Artist Mentor of your choice. Throughout the seminar, the Artist Mentor of your choice will offer advice, guidance, and critiques, regarding their artistic painting techniques to all of their Artist Participants, emphasizing artistic self-discovery and international artistic fellowship. The Fairmont Algonquin is an elegant resort hotel located in St Andrews-by-the-Sea, a picturesque coastal village on Passamaquoddy Bay. A maritime tradition in its second century of impeccable hospitality, The Fairmont Algonquin blends old world charm with modern luxury. The historic coastal town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea also offers a wealth of seaside opportunities to complement your visit. The Bay of Fundy is also one of the marine wonders of the world and just a short walk from The Fairmont Algonquin, as are numerous other historical and natural attractions, including Campobello Island and the Atlantic Salmon Interpretive Centre. Whatever St Andrews attractions you wish to visit, everything is within easy reach of The Fairmont Algonquin.
Non-participating Spouses or Guests of the attending artists are encourage to join the seminar to enjoy the many wonderful sights & attractions.
Single Rooms - will be available for the attending artists.
Meals. Daily Buffet Breakfasts are included - with a Daily Buffet Dinner Meal option for an additional $350. (*Daily Buffet Breakfasts as outlined above, are also Included for the Spouse / Non-Painting Guest of the attending artist)
Ground Transportation to Painting Sites. Daily ground transportation will be provided to the daily painting sites to be selected by the Artist Mentor. (*No guide services will be provided for the Spouse / Non-Painter Guest of the attending artist.)
Deposits and Payments. All Artist Participants must pay a non-refundable $1,000 deposit to secure a place on the Session (Please note: Registration has been extended till December 31, 2007). If the participating artist's payment is not paid in full by the aforementioned date, they risk of the loss of their slot.
All Participants are advised to purchase Travel Insurance

Sessions are open to all levels of Artists. Art advice and guidance will be given, along with painting demonstrations and critiques which will be primarily on a group basis.
